The best time to visit Indonesia is during the shoulder seasons of March to June, and September to November, when there are fewer tourists, lower prices and splendid weather.

What to eat

A country as vast and diverse as Indonesia offers the culinary journey of a lifetime. Start with some street food like nasi goreng ayam (fried chicken rice), satay (skewered grilled chicken with peanut sauce), babi guling (spit roasted pig), rendang (beef coconut curry), and if you’re feeling adventurous, try out some fresh durian.
