Vibrating to its own rhythm, Jamaica is a laidback, tropical haven. It reverberates with rebellious reggae and its people's friendly patois. Chase the sounds of waterfalls tumbling down cliffs, or cerulean waves crashing on buzzing beaches. Listen out for the sizzle of delicious, jerk-spiced meats. Seek silence atop a steep summit, or in a deep sea cave, until a catchy cadence catches up to you.

Fun fact
Jamaica is known for a lot of things, but its music takes the cake. Reggae jammed on to the scene in the late 60s, originating from musicians slowing down the tempo of ska tunes. The term “reggae” came from the Toots & the Maytals’ hit “Do the Reggay.”Reggay was just the name of a dance fad at the time, but was then associated with the new music genre played by the band.
