Fun fact
Elegant Nice surprisingly shares something with… sneakers. Settled by the Greeks around 350 BC, they originally named it Nikaia in honour of Nike, the Greek goddess of victory. When the Romans took over centuries later, the name morphed into the Italian Nizza and then Nice when it became French in the 19th century.
