What to bring back

A bottle of limoncello and other lemon-based food or beauty products, colourful handmade ceramics, custom-made leather sandals, and inlaid woodwork from Sorrento.

What to eat

Dishes and drinks featuring the coast’s giant iconic lemons like delizia al limone (a sublime lemon and limoncello-based dessert), a Caprese salad (fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and basil) and fresh seafood served with pasta or on its own.

Fun fact

If you’re zipping past the coast by boat, you’ll most likely spot many circular or square-shaped stone towers dotting the shoreline. Built between the 9th and 16th century, these towers defended small towns against pirate raids and Turkish invasions. Some of the famous ones to look out for: the Crestarella tower in Vietri sul Mare, the Cetara tower and the three towers found in Positano: Sponda, Trasita and Fornillo.
